Olivia Carere
2T7 Class Co-President
About Me
My name is Olivia Carere (she/her). I am from Ottawa, Ontario and did my undergrad in Biomedical Engineering at McMaster University. You can find me in a library cubby watching lectures at 2.5X speed, in a coffee shop sipping on an overpriced iced latte, or with family/friends deep in conversation ranking every dish at a new Toronto restaurant.
A few experiences have shaped my leadership style and sparked my passion for student body wellness: I served as a Student Life Captain at Ashbury College, addressing pandemic-related challenges and adapting to the student body’s evolving needs. I was a leader at an international cultural competency conference, engaging delegates from 50+ countries. I’ve also excelled as a Head Teaching Assistant at McMaster University, known for my attentiveness to my students’ needs.
I am excited and honoured to apply the insights gained from these experiences as a 2T7 Class President!
1. Prioritizing Your Wellness: Working to centralize wellness resources, ensuring easy access for all, and advocating for your well-being throughout medical school.
2. Streamlining Your Experience: Establish feedback forms and opportunities for you to participate in executive discussions. Your convenience and concerns will be proactively addressed.
3. Embracing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Provide more support for underrepresented groups, amplify voices, and ensure all find their place in our community. For our commuter colleagues, we understand your unique challenges and will work to alleviate scheduling concerns and ensure equitable access to opportunities across both campuses.

2T7 Class Co-President
About Me
Hi friends! My name is Shubh Patel (he/him), and I am honoured to have the privilege of serving as one of your 2T7 Class Co-Presidents. Before medical school, I studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Calgary, where I also had the honour of serving as the President of the Health Sciences Students’ Association. I'm thrilled to apply the insights and experiences gained from that leadership role to my current position.
When not doing medical school or working on an oddball project, I love sporting, devouring food, and watching and creating content—as I have my own podcast and YouTube channel. I'm always open for a chat, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas. I'm here to listen and help in any way I can!
