Speaker

The speaker and executive admin are the people who run MedSoc day to day. We run the meetings, create motions, plan agendas and write minutes to be sent out afterwards. We also help run the elections (along with VP Communications) and organise the selection of the MedSoc Affiliated Positions (MSAPs). Although we don't oversee a particular portfolio we often work with a lot of the VPs on MedSoc on different initiatives so if you have a question we can't answer we definitely know who can! Aside from our own MedSoc meetings we also chair the Class President's lunch and organise MedSoc AGMs where anyone from the student body can come and ask the council any questions they may have.

About Me

Hey all, I’m Ryan Huang and I’m your executive administrator this year. Very excited to be working with you all!

Prior to medical school I obtained my Master of Management Analytics from the Rotman School of Management and my Master of Science from McGill. I work as a Senior Management Consultant at Accenture leading the innovation team to deliver on predictive modelling projects for our clients. Outside of school and work, I enjoy walking my Shiba Inu, working out, and eating pasta.

Increase accessibility of council meetings to the general members of the UofT Medical Society, and streamline the way our council holds meetings and/or updates our governance.

About Me

Hello everyone! I am so excited to serve the student community as the Medical Society Executive Administrator for the 2023-2024 academic year!

Before joining you here at the University of Toronto I attended Toronto Metropolitan University where I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. I've been able to use my trade as a chemist in fields from food and soft materials to pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and molecular biology.

Outside of my obligations as a medical student I try to get involved in my community and currently serve as the Vice President of Public Relations for the Albanian Students' Association here at the University of Toronto. I also spend my free time losing spectacularly at volleyball, watching way too much reality television, and attending any event with free pizza.

Year Plans and Goals

Improve transparency and traceability within discussions and decision making processes.
