VP Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion
The VP EDI Sr. role leads the larger EDI portfolio. In addition to the VP EDI Sr., this portfolio consists of the VP EDI Jr., MSAP Sr. & Jr. for Student Support, and MSAP Sr. & Jr. for Education. Through our roles, we seek to center and take lead from equity-seeking student groups, who have traditionally been underrepresented in our student body, program, and governance structures. Part and parcel of this role, relating to its commitment to anti-oppression, is to further develop transparency and accountability within the Medical Society’s structures.

Amanvir Virdi
VP Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Sr.
About Me
Hi there! My name is Amanvir (she/her). I did my undergrad and graduate studies at York University. I enjoy exploring the city so I’m always up for a walking-tour. In my free-time, I’m usually reading a book or watching a documentary on architectural history, the natural sciences, or ancient societies. Please feel free to reach out to me for any EDI-related concerns and/or suggestions (or if you have any good book recommendations!).
As VP EDI Sr. my main goal is to help amplify the voices of students as we forge an ever growing and diverse Faculty of Medicine student community. Equity to me means bridging differences in opportunity by listening to unique perspectives and helping advocate for change in a productive way. Conversations surrounding EDI catalyze change, therefore, I encourage you to reach out with questions, suggestions, and concerns so we can work together to strengthen our student community.
